Photography inspires me to explore my community and the far corners of the world for unexpected subject matter and compositions. I incorporate elements of street, documentary and fine-art photography into my work. Subjects often include people in vibrant gathering places, natural and man-made patterns, and overlooked aspects of everyday life.
I draw inspiration from several photographers with well established reputations including Martin Parr, Alex Webb and Gary Winogrand. I like to be in motion, observing the details of my surroundings. I am curious about many of the people I encounter and the places in which they live, work and play.
I am on the lookout for striking subjects, vivid colors and dynamic compositions - ideally all three within a single frame. I also strive to find scenes involving ordinary people and objects, but with a humorous twist unrecognized by the participants.
